Sunday June 28,2009 We left Lake Louise and drove down to Banff. After setting up the trailer in the Electric Campground

we drove to town and walked towards the Sundance Canyon on the west side of the Bow River. On the way we came across some bucks that look like the two we had seen on the other side of town on our earlier stay. This time we got some good pictures of them.

We continued walking towards the Cave and Basin and onto the board walk into the marsh. We even went into the blind but there were no wildlife about. We continued a little way onto the Sundance Canyon trail before returning to the car and campground for dinner. We went to the evening program which was cute and informative about all the local wildlife that might steal your lunch if you were foolish enough to leave it out.

On Monday we drove on the Bow River Parkway to Johnston Canyon and didn't see any wildlife either on our way up or on our way back. The Canyon parking lot was crowded but we managed to find a spot and began our walk.

The walk to the Lower Falls about 1/2 Mile was the most crowded. From there about half the people drop off and there are a lot less for the next 1 mile to the Upper Falls. From there it becomes a trickle as only as handful of people continue on up, and I do mean up, the remaining 1.9 miles to the to the Ink pots.

That night we went to another Parks Canada Interpretive campground show about cat (lynx & cougar) and dog (coyote & wolf) predators in Banff National Park.

Tuesday we went to Minnewanka Lake and took the lake cruise. It wasn't as scenic as Maligne and Debby didn't care for it but we did see our first raptor of the trip and several mountain sheep.

That night the interpretive campground program was canceled so we went to town for ice cream. The next morning we hooked up and moved to Calgary, Alberta
