On Friday we went to Lewiston, NY to the North Niagara Falls /Lewiston KOA we didn’t visit the Falls this trip but had discovered in 2019 that this area is either under frequented by Rv’ers or has such a glut of campgrounds that there are always places to stay. The other thing this area has is plenty of Rails to Trails. After setting up we drove about a block down Fletcher St where the campground is located, parked in a park'n ride and walked North on the Kiwanis Park trail to where it ended at the entrance to Joseph Davis State Park. Since we hadn't even completed 4 miles we returned to Fletcher St and walked south along the sidewalk over looking the Niagara for a short distance before returning to the truck and campground.

The next day we parked in the same park n ride and first walked East on the path which parallels the road until we reached the parkway where the trail parallels the parkway although there is vegetation between the two. in total  we walked four miles out and back never reaching the trail head in Lewiston's Kiwanis Park.

On July 25th we drove to Lockport, NY and walked on the Erie Canal Trail newly fixed up thanks to discredited and eventually resigned Governor Cuomo, As for Lockport there are several inland towns with port in their names as they were ports on the Erie Canal like FairPort, Gasport Brockport, Middleport and others. While the Erie canal trail exists in all of these towns  there are some parts of the trail that are on the road and do not have a dedicated walk/bike trail.

We have not walked the entire 365 Miles trail which follows the old Eire canal  AKA Clinton's (not that Clinton) ditch. After our four mile walk we drove to Lock 34 & 35 in downtown Lockport.

On the 27th we drove to North Tonawanda and walked on the path along the St Lawrence river along a section a of the Erie Canal trail  which we had walked on previously from the other end. During our stay in the area we also  rediscovered Perry’s ice Cream an up State New York favorite. We bought it in 48 oz (no longer a gallon) containers in the supermarket and we also went to DeDee’s where the portions are extremely generous.
