Originally booked in the Cleveland/ Streetsboro KOA which is in Streetsboro, Oh for the 11th we arrived a day later but left on the 16th as planned putting us back on our schedule. This is one of our favorites because of it’s proximity to Cuyahoga National Park and the Cuyahoga County Metro Parks walking paths as well as  being along a corridor we frequently travel between Wisconsin and New York. Upon arrival after setting up we drove to the Metro path we walked about a mile and a half and it started to rain so we turned around and returned to the truck completing 3.35 miles in all . On the 13th we drove to Brandywine Falls where we walked to the falls and then continued on the Bike Hike trail and we tried to go on the Gorge trail however it was wet slippery and steep.

While returning to the Bike Hike Path we passed this old abandoned Champion  Electric Generating Station from 1937

From there we drove to Red Lock in Cuyahoga Valley National Park and walked two more miles,

On our return to the campground we discovered a brand new Costco that had Diesel Fuel so we filled the tank and shopped for groceries.

July 14th we went to the Cleveland Metro Zoo about 30 miles away,
ElephantGiraffe

It was a cute little zoo which we were able to tour all the outdoor exhibits on that one day. Due to Covid we did not enter any buildings for indoor exhibits. When we started visiting zoo's mainly the Bronx Zoo many years ago, Zoos didn't feel the need to offer special exhibits to attract visitors. I guess an interest in animals was sufficient now zoos offer a whole host of exhibits and attractions like zip lines and such in order to compete with other entertainment venues and even help defray the cost of maintaining the animals. The following two pictures are exhibits from the Cleveland zoo

We were able to visit the entire zoo and just as we returned to the truck it started to rain.On our way back to the campground we stopped at a Dodge Dealer and got new wind shield wipers which I had overlooked in my previous visit to a dealer.

Talking about Zoos with non animal related attractions I took these pictures at the Bronx Zoo in August of 2017 Everybody really enjoyed it but I still don't know what it's connection to the zoo other then helping there bottom line is.

On the 15th we drove to Bedford Reservation about halfway to the zoo. We found and then walked to Bridal Vail Falls which is a series of small waterfalls as opposed to a single large waterfall. The falls are not far from the road however we walked over a wooden bridge and continued up a hill past the falls.

We walked a total of a mile before returning to the truck then we drove to another part of the Bike Hike Trail and walked another two miles out and back.  After our walk we drove to the Garrets Mill Diner where we ate outside and had a lovely breakfast before returning to Costco to top off the tank and then returned to the campground.

As planned we left the Streetsboro KOA in Ohio and headed for our next stop in Westfield N.Y
