The next day we walked around University Lake and saw some very pretty homes. That night we went to Parrains Restaurant a well known Cajun restaurant that lived up to its hype.
On February 3 we left Baton Rouge and we moved about 55 miles to Lafayette, LA. There was a town or county park but the gate was locked and the place looked deserted. Might be nice in season but we went on down the road to a KOA. After setting up and unhooking we visited Vermilion Village a Cajun living museum, walked the grounds and listened to the artisans tell us about Cajun life in the bayou. From there we went to the National Park Service Acadian Cultural Center. It was close to closing but we were able to see a movie about the Acadians and their history.
When the Center closed for the day we went back to the campground for a while then out to dinner at Prejean's another Cajun Restaurant unfortunately this one didn't live up to it's hype. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing .
The next day February 5the we continued heading West leaving Louisiana and entering Texas
