We left the United States through the Eastport, Idaho - Keysport, Canada on June 10th and stopped a few miles from the boarder at Yahk Provincial Park in Yahk, British Columbia. there wasn't a lot of town and the trails in the park were flooded but it was a pretty place to dry camp. We tried walking in town but there were only roads and nothing scenic so we went back to the campground and just sort of walked through it.

June 11, 2009 we went to Fairmont Hot Springs, BC for a three day stay. Fairmont Hot Springs is a resort community with a hot spring swimming pool, some natural pools in a stream that get run off from the man made pools above, several campground, a ski lift (only in winter) four Interval International Resorts with golf courses and restaurants and hoodoos overlooking the Columbia River Valley.

We went to the hot pools once and out to dinner in one of the resorts fine dining restaurants for a pleasant meal and obviously we hiked to the hoodoos (my knee seems to be coming around and I can hike every few days)

From Fairmont we drove up to and through the Kootenay National Park to Banff National Park

Next (Banff National Park)
