The next morning we left Pangola drove 34.9 Kilometers and entered the Kingdom of Swaziland. Interesting country obviously more primitive and poorer then South Africa. After crossing the boarder and presenting our passports we continued our days drive, stopping at a local craft area which included a nice restaurant and some interesting craft stores including a candle carving outlet providing jobs for several locals. We had a snack and bought some candles before continuing to the Mililwane Wildlife Sanctuary where we camped for the night. While we were setting up I saw a soldier complete with rifle making his rounds. Didn't know if he was there to protect us or keep the poachers out of the sanctuary.
That night we went to the restaurant for a Potjie dinner where we met a member of the US State Department showing a new embassy employee the sites. It was more of a holiday for him as he was also accompanied by his young children. We had a nice talk with the two U.S. employees and an enjoyable meal. The meal was followed by native dancers from a nearby village.
The next day we continued our trip through Swaziland the border with South Africa where we repeated our presentation of passports first to exit Swaziland and next to enter South Africa. From there we drove to the Berg-En-Dal Camp in Kruger National Park, South Africa
